Friday 7 February 2025 4SH Assembly- up Pompeii! Last Friday, we were treated to the glitz and glamour of another class assembly. This week, 4SH, directed by the expertise of Mrs Sandhu Hanif, took to the boards to deliver an epic about Ancient Rome. We were transported back to Ancient Pompeii and discovered the horrors that befell that once glorious city at the hands of Mount Vesuvius.

Thursday 9 January 2025 Year 4 explore the story of King Midas and the Golden Touch This week, Year 4 began their journey into myths by looking at the story of King Midas and the Golden Touch. As it's a dramatic story, we thought we Midas well act it out too! This is a great way to embed the story in their minds which will aid in writing their own versions of the tale next week!

Tuesday 10 December 2024 Year 4 Grab a Slice! This week, Year 4 grabbed a slice of the action by designing and making their own healthy pizzas! This means a healthy balance of protein, carbohydrates, fat and veggies in every bite. They had an amazing time being little chefs—I'm positive they'll jump at the chance to help out in the kitchen at home...

Thursday 5 December 2024 Year 4 Conducted an Eggcellent Eggsperiment! This week, Year 4 conducted an eggcellent eggsperiment. The plan was to investigate how different can drinks affect our teeth; however, since (thanks to the prohibition of corporal punishment in 1986) we aren't allowed to remove children's teeth, we used boiled eggs! Eggshells possess a very similar chemical composition to teeth, you see. So far, the eggs seem to be reacting to the different liquids; releasing some rather interesting smells! We'll keep you updated.

Friday 29 November 2024 Year 4 Explore the Digestive System! This week, Year 4 learned all about the digestive system. Learning about all of the organs involved was really intestine their memories—thankfully, they had the stomach for it! They were particularly impressed to find out that their stomachs contain an acid strong enough melt metal! Iron't you glad we've got a protective mucus layer to stop it melting us?

Monday 21 October 2024 Year 4 Egyptian Day! This week, Year 4 brought Ancient Egypt to the school—and I don't mean they brought their mummies!—for Ancient Egyptian Day! Just look at their amazing costumes that they made/prepared at home. Among other activities, the children made Canopic jars out of clay, just in case they one day need to store some loose organs. Good thing none of the artefacts we've handled were cursed; no one wants a re-enactment of Ghost with Tutankhamun's shrivelled apparition!
