Year Six's Class Charter - Inspired by heraldry
For our Year 6 class charter, the children have been exploring Heraldry – the art and study of designing special symbols called coats of arms. In the Middle Ages, coats of arms were used to identify people, families and groups, with each symbol, colour and image representing something important about them.
The children put their own creative spin on this tradition by designing a class charter inspired by heraldry. They thought carefully about the values, qualities and beliefs that are important to them. By combining history, creativity and reflection, the children created a shield representing themselves.
