Year 6 explore Computing Using Micro:bits
This half term, Year 6 have been exploring the fascinating world of computing through our new unit focused on interactive toys. Using Micro:bits — small programmable devices — pupils have been learning how to code, problem-solve, and get creative. This week’s challenge involved using the built-in magnetometer to detect when a magnet is moved near the Micro:bit, forming part of an exciting game. Pupils also had fun composing and programming their own melodies, turning their Micro:bits into miniature musical instruments!
It’s been a fantastic way to combine technology with creativity, and we can’t wait to see the final interactive toys the students design!
