Year 5 - Careers Week

To celebrate Careers Week in school we were visited by some our students’ parents who came to talk to classes about their work and what they do in their field.  In Year 5 we were visited by Ms. McIlroy, who works for Mental Health First Aid England as their Head of Campaigns & Communications.  She told us about a lot of the different things she did in her job and showed us some of the campaigns she created with her team. She also informed us of ways to help us with our mental health and who we can speak to when we worried about our mental health or if we are worried about someone close to us and their mental wellbeing. The children were full of questions such as ‘what is your favourite thing about your job?’, ‘what other jobs have you done?’, ‘if you could do any other job in your company what do you think you could do?’ and many more. Ms. McIlroy was very impressed with the children’s questions and the attention they gave to her and her talk.  Thank you again Ms McIlroy!
