Music assembly
On Friday morning, we were treated by a fantastic music assembly organised and showcased by Mr Poulton.
He used key words to show elements of music. The first key word we looked at was determination. The drumming group showed : learning to play an instrument, rhythms, performance with solos and teamwork.
The KS1 choir group showed a lot of creativity during their song, they sang down by the bay and they adapted it. They were very enthusiastic with their actions. PLM used their learning to very confidently sing a song about Roman roads, they used music to teach us information about a subject. Well done!
The next word was emotions, and the guitar group and Patrick were beat boxing and sang 12 bar beat box blues. When Mr Poulton told us about music being everywhere, he went through the chorus from a familiar song with each year group singing a different song.
At the end of the assembly, Mr Poulton announced that he was going to leave next week, and he said some very special things about South Grove, but as he said we do have a new music teacher called Ms Forbes replacing him after the spring break.
Miss Maltwood (and Bogdan) thanked Mr Poulton and all the children for presenting us such a wonderful assembly.
