4P Assembly was all about Pompeii
What an explosive assembly we were treated to on Friday with 4P erupting onto the stage to lets us know all about what they had learnt about the ancient city of Pompeii for their History topic.
Their play told us about the hero of the day, Pliny the Elder, who tried to calm and reassure the citizens of Pompeii and encouraged them to leave as Mount Vesuvius erupted around them, leading them to the beach to the many boats that he had organised to rescue them. However, although his actions did save many people, he had asthma and all the ash in the air was too much for him and he also became one of the victims of the tragedy.
The class acted out the story brilliantly and then shared their fabulous ‘Pollockesque’ paintings of erupting volcanoes. It was a wonderfully informative assembly watched by their proud families – well done 4P!
Here’s what the parents had to say:
What an EXPLOSIVE performance!
Amazing assembly – I learnt so much
I really enjoyed the assembly – thank you
Very well explained, well done 4P and the team of 4P
