Year 2 to the Monument / Pudding Lane
Dear Parents,
As part of our History/Geography topic on The Great Fire of London, Year 2 will be visiting The Monument on Thursday 6 February to see where it started on Pudding Lane. We shall be travelling by public transport and will arrive back before the end of the school day. The children will need a packed lunch and a drink in a suitable container (no fizzy drinks or glass bottles please). All children are entitled to free school meals so the school can provide a packed lunch if you wish.
We intend to climb the 311 steps inside the Monument, so if you would like your child to do so please put £3.00 in cash in a sealed envelope with their name on. They will receive a certificate. Those children that do not want to climb the steps will wait with an adult outside the building.
If your child suffers from travel sickness, please let us know, and make sure your child takes whatever medication is necessary. If your child is asthmatic please ensure they have a pump in school to take with them.
We need adult support to help with this trip. If you are willing to accompany us we will be asking you to be with a small group of children.
